You've probably already figured that to register a new domain, you choose "Register Domains" from the menu. It's then just a matter of continuing to follow your nose, answering questions that nobody but you knows best how to answer.

.com.au .net.au .asn.au .org.au .id.au .com.au is used by commercial entities such as companies with an Australian Company Number and businesses registered with State governments. .net.au .net.au is recommended for organisations and companies that are using the Internet as an integral part of their operations .asn.au .asn.au is for incorporated associations, trade unions, political parties, sporting and special interest clubs, and partnerships between disparate organisations. .org.au .org.au is for verifiable non-profit and charitable organisations. .id.au .id.au is reserved for the people of Australia to create their own online identity.

Renewing or transferring a domain name is equally as straight forward as registering a domain. Just select the appropriate menu item.

Payment methods within the process include Cheque or Direct Deposit(Available to Australian Clients, International Clients need to use the PayPal option below). The email you receive at the end of the process will provide you with all the details to complete either.

Another option is to pay using your Credit Card via PayPal by using the "Account Payment" screen on the Main Menu. After you receive your invoice by email, make your way to the Account Payment screen and use the "Pay Now" button.

• Using the PayPal method is the quickest way to make a payment if you are running late. PayPal is also a very safe way to pay via credit/debit card because only PayPal has your details.

Payment notification/confirmation via PayPal is usually well within an hour or so.

Direct Deposit to bank account can take a couple of working days (it depends how long the bank chooses to play with our money!)

The time for a cheque to arrive, be banked and cleared can be a long while.

Once payment has been confirmed, the registration or renewal will be actioned.
